Navajo tribe, Native American, ledger paper art design inspired shower curtain. Due to the consequences of colonial assimilation during the 19th and 20th century, ledger paper provided a new surface on which to record traditional stories, ceremonies, daily life, and even resistance to the changes they were experiencing. It became a medium for preserving cultural memory and expressing individual and collective experiences.
